June's book is "Being Me" by Rosemary McCarney. In this story, a young girl helps at a food bank and runs into one of her classmates there. She spearheads a canned food drive, where each child contributes in their own special way.
This was my favourite of all the books from January to June. The story line was very relatable to the children. We also talked about what they want to be when they grow up. The virtue was very easy to explain to the children and they were able to come up with other ways of demonstrating charity. My least favourite was "How to Heal a Broken Wing." Only because there was alot of pictures but not alot of text so it was hard for all the children to see the images from the back.
